The mons pubis is located in the front part of the pubic symphysis and is the skin’s halo that focuses on the fatty tissue and is also called the Venus’s mound

Pregnancy, obesity or also the effects of skin aging can lead to unnatural and unsightly appearance of the mound, which is the cause of complexes in many women, and can also affect sexual functions.

Mons pubis liposuction  is a surgical procedure aimed at reducing excess fatty tissue in this area and obtaining a smooth transition from the abdominal area to the pubic region.

The lip mating treatment of the pubic mound is recommended to women whose pubic mound from various births, i.e. birth, pregnancy and obesity is increased. Often, patients who have undergone abdominoplasty or abdominal liposuction find that their pubic mound is unnaturally large. Not only aesthetic considerations are indications for this procedure. A patient with an overgrown pubic mound may have problems with hygiene, be exposed to intimate irritation or yeast dermatitis.

A dissected pubic mound may affect sexual function.

Contraindications to the pubic liposuction procedure include cardiac problems and clotting disorders, pregnancy and breastfeeding, purulent skin infections, diabetes or coagulation disorders. The doctor who qualifies for the procedure will assess the patient’s condition and decide to undertake the procedure.

How to prepare for surgery?

Before each treatment there is a consultation during which the patient will receive information about the procedure and the doctor will gather an appropriate interview.

All the tests to be performed before the procedure can be performed by the patient in our Clinic. The examinations that are necessary for the procedure are:

  • blood group
  • morphology
  • urinalysis
  • coagulogram – APTT, INR, PT
  • ECG after the age of 40
  • HBS antigen
  • electrolytes
  • sugar level.

2 weeks before the planned treatment, the patient can not take drugs, i.e. aspirin or its derivatives, Wit. E and all antitussive and anti-influenza drugs, as they may affect prolonged bleeding during surgery. The restriction of smoking is also indicated.

6 hours should be left on an empty stomach (without food or drink) before surgery.

Course of operation

Quite often the procedure is combined with the procedure of abdominoplasty or labiomyoplasty, but it can be a separate procedure and usually performed under local anesthesia, while the choice of the form of anesthesia is always made by the anesthetist in consultation with the patient, after medical history and analysis of current research results. In the Medifem clinic, all liposuction procedures take place in the operating room.

The treatment is often connected with the suspension of the pubic mound.
